Nyla Milton, age 87, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2019, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.  Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota.  Interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery, followed by a light luncheon.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Sunday at the Hamilton Funeral Home.

Nyla May Manguson was born on March 25, 1932, to Sidney and Dora (Knieff) Manguson, on the family farm near Milroy, Minnesota.  She attended country school before graduating from Marshall High School with the class of 1950.  Nyla worked at the courthouse from 1950 – 1962, and it was during that time that she was set up on a blind date with Mr. William “Bucky” Milton.

She and Bucky were united in marriage in April of 1960 and the couple made their home briefly in Astoria, South Dakota, before moving to a farm outside of Canby, Minneota.  They had three children: Jeff, Kevin, and Sharon.  Nyla was a devoted mother, farm wife, and homemaker.  Upon retiring in the mid-1990s, the couple moved to Marshall.  Nyla and Bucky shared over 45 years of marriage together before he passed away in 2006.  Nyla moved into Boulder Estates in 2016 and then into Morningside Heights Care Center last year.

Nyla had a great sense of humor, was a lovely and likable person, and was active in the Marshall Senior Center.  Her other enjoyments in life included getting coffee at Perkins, collecting jewelry, antiques, collecting Barbie Dolls, reading home magazines, decorating cakes, catching the food network and to her favorite TV shows, and caring for many pets over the years.

Nyla Milton entered her Heavenly home on November 20, 2019.  She reached the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 26 days.  Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Milton (Sara Stromley) of Redmond, WA, Kevin Milton (Bill Emery) of Minneapolis, Sharon Milton of Bloomington; granddogs, Maximus and Axel; sister, Neva Manguson of Marshall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nyla was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Dora Manguson; husband, Bucky Milton; and 4 siblings, Lester Manguson, Lois Mitzner, Allan Manguson and Arnold Manguson.
