FRANKLIN – Multiple fire departments were called out to a residential fire Saturday afternoon, according to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 4:41 Saturday afternoon, a garage fire was reported in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue West in the city of Franklin. Upon arrival, crews from the Franklin, Fairfax, and Morton Fire Departments discovered an attached garage fully engulfed in flames and a portion of the house was engulfed in flames as well. Fire crews attempted to save the structure of the house, however both the house and garage sustained severe smoke and fire damage.
The home is owned by 41-year-old Wesley Lund of Franklin. Nobody was injured.
The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
