UNDATED (LEARFIELD)  —  The Minnesota Department of Transportation says more than 200 road and bridge projects were completed or advanced during the 2020 construction season.

Officials say there were also 36 rail safety and 15 airport projects completed as well.

MnDOT assistant commissioner Jay Hietpas said, “while COVID-19 created challenges in some areas, the reduced traffic volumes we saw early in the season helped in some cases to minimize disruptions to travelers.”

The MnDOT projects included the Highway 23 project between Cottonwood and Granite Falls, and Highway 5 near the M-S-P airport.
