SAINT PAUL – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has announced the availability of nearly $12.5 million in federal grants for transportation-related community projects in Greater Minnesota. The funding is part of the Transportation Alternatives program, which supports projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, historic preservation, and Safe Routes to School initiatives.

Interested communities, schools, and their partners must submit a letter of intent by November 1, 2024, to be considered for the 2024-25 grant cycle. Full applications are due by January 10, 2025, with grant recipients to be announced on April 15, 2025.
