JEFFERS – The names of the people involved in a collision last week have been released by the Minnesota State Patrol. A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 71 in Cottonwood County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 3:11 Wednesday afternoon, a 2010 GMC Savana was traveling westbound on Highway 30 and a 2023 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Highway 71 when they collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Savana, 20-year-old Ricardo Fernando Dumitrescu of Orlando, FL, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Windom hospital. One passenger, 28-year-old Bianco Ioana Stan of Orlando, FL, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Sioux Falls hospital. Two other passengers, 26-year-old Leonardo Dumitrescu Stoica of Orlando, FL, and a juvenile male from Orlando, FL, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Windom hospital.
The driver of the Sierra, 55-year-old Timothy Greg Erickson of Kandiyohi, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Westbrook hospital.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Jeffers Fire Department, Windom Police Department and Windom Ambulance.
