SAINT PAUL, MN (KMHL) — A potential nurses’ strike may be avoided as several hospitals in the Twin Cities and other locations across the state have reached a tentative deal on new contract agreements with the 15,000-plus member nurses’ union. The strike was set for December 11th.
According to the Twin Cities Hospitals Group, they reached tentative agreements early this morning with the nurses’ union at Children’s, Methodist, North Memorial, and M Health Fairview’s West Campus. Allina also says they have reached tentative agreements with several hospitals as well. St. Luke’s in Duluth reached an apparent agreement late last night. Duluth-based Essentia is reportedly the only group to not reach a tentative agreement at this point.
These tentative agreements come after many months of deadlock, just days before 15,000 nurses were scheduled to go on strike through the end of 2022.
