ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD) — The Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association is calling on Governor Tim Walz to fully re-open bars and restaurants in the state.

M-L-B-A director Tony Chesak said they are ready to safely open as soon as possible for indoor dining and have preparedness plans to protect customers, staff and vendors.

Bars and restaurants were allowed to re-open Monday with outdoor dining only at 50-percent capacity.

Chesak said, “The time to do this is now. We are ready and cannot wait much longer. Thirty-nine other states have trusted their hospitality industries. Do the same.”

Governor Walz did sign an executive order late Tuesday allowing bars and restaurants to expand outdoor dining to trunk highway right-of-way space, where commercial activity is normally restricted to help with social distancing.
