A celebration of the life of Michelle Murphy, 38, of Marshall, will be held Friday, April 9, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Mask and social distancing requirements will be observed.

Michelle Marie Murphy passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family and friends, on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She was born on September 28, 1982, in Marshall and was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. She graduated from MHS with the class of 2001 and then attended Sister Rosalind Gefre School of Massage in Mankato. Michelle worked a variety of jobs, but her favorite and last position was serving the residents of Boulder Estates as an activities planner.  She was diagnosed in January 2019 with kidney cancer. She fought fiercely, trying any option offered while still caring for her family.  Michelle loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her adventurous spirit took her many places; some of her favorites were camping in the Boundary Waters, bicycling across Iowa, attending concerts, and of course, enjoying walks through Camden State Park with her family and two dogs, Brewster & Nellie. Michelle loved movie and music trivia and was always our “go-to” expert on actors or musicians.

Michelle is survived by her children Dylan and Evelyn Deutschlander, her soulmate Adam Caughey, her parents Larry and Gail Murphy, all of Marshall; her siblings Melanie (Chad) McDonald of Prior Lake, Melissa Showers of Ocean View, NJ, Mike (Randi) Murphy of Harrisburg, SD; nieces and nephews Jayde and Taylor McDonald, Autumn, Dominick, Heidi, and Brynn Showers, and Caitlin and Owen Murphy.
he was preceded in death by her grandparents Jerome and Mercedes (Mickie) Murphy and Lowell and Marjorie Schmiesing.
