
SILVER LAKE, Minn. — A 65-year-old South Dakota man is facing drug charges after approximately 110 grams of methamphetamine was seized from his vehicle near Silver Lake Sunday.
Agents with the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force stopped the vehicle around 1 p.m. Sept. 6 near Iris Road and 190th Street in McLeod County. Agents knew the driver had outstanding warrants from Lac Qui Parle County.
A Minnesota State Patrol K-9 alerted to the vehicle, leading to a search. Agents found about 110 grams of methamphetamine hidden in the engine compartment, along with additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and engine compartment.
The 65-year-old passenger, a Montevideo man, was released at the scene. The investigation remains active.
