Maxine Eleanor (Gruhot) St. Aubin was born on December 24, 1929, in Marshall, to Max and Lottie (Przymus) Gruhot. Maxine grew up on the family farm near Ivanhoe and graduated from Ivanhoe High School. While working as a practical nurse at the hospital, Maxine met Louis St. Aubin. The couple was married on September 5, 1950, at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. They farmed and raised their family south of Marshall.
