It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Anne VanLerberghe, a cherished mother, grandmother and friend, on January 22, 2025. A Celebration of Life is being planned in Marshall, MN, details will be shared at a later date. We would like to thank Brighton Hospice and Rakhma Grace for their compassion, care and support. The Horvath Funeral Service in Marshall is handling the arrangements.
Mary Anne was born on May 14, 1944 to Peter & Irma Wyffels. She grew up in Cottonwood, MN and worked hard helping on the farm before moving to Marshall, MN and then Worthington and most recently resided in Minnetonka, MN. She loved to waterski and taught all her children to ski. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family & friends, especially on the lake. In her lifetime, she not only created a legacy of laughter and love but also modeled the power of positivity and the importance of family to those around her. She embodied tremendous strength every day in her 50-year battle with MS while maintaining a great sense of humor with quick witted comments. Her spirit, enthusiasm, and love for life will continue to live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, friends, and all who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the joy she brought to us all. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered always.
Survived by her children, Doug VanLerberghe, Barry VanLerberghe and Cheri Elshaw (Mike). Brothers Richard Wyffels, Donald Wyffels (Angie) and Dennis Wyffels. Her grandchildren Lauren Bixler (Ryan), Alex Elshaw, Austin VanLerberghe, Kara VanLerberghe, Taylor Elshaw and Noelle VanLerberghe. Her love for them, and her unwavering devotion to their well-being, was a testament to her wonderful spirit and caring heart. Her selflessness and dedication to her family will forever be remembered. Preceded in death by her parents Peter & Irma Wyffels, brothers Fr. Robert Wyffels and Lawrence Wyffels, sisters-in- law Lee Wyffels, Maxine Wyffels and Carol Wyffels.
