MARSHALL (KMHL) – Could the Marshall School District start using E-Learning days when the weather makes it too dangerous for kids to get to school?

The school board heard a presentation on E-learning days at their meeting yesterday. A school district committee of teachers and administrators made the presentation of a plan to implement E-Learning days as a way to reduce the impact that inclement weather has on student-teacher contact time.

E-Learning Days is not something the Marshall School District has used in the past, but the proposal to start, comes after a year that saw a record number of school delays and cancellations following severe winter in the region.

The committee recommended the school board adopt the proposal at the district’s July meeting.

State law allows school districts to use up to 5 E-Learning days each year.
