The threat of school violence is one, in this day and age, that is taken very seriously in whatever form it might take. The Marshall Public Schools was busy on Tuesday dealing with just such a threat. Officials say that a mention of violence was made on Monday afternoon following an incident at the school and that mention was relayed on social media Monday evening. Following a district investigation information was forwarded to parents and the presence of law enforcement was increased on the high school campus. High school principal Brian Jones says that the district needs to take every threat seriously. “Well, anytime we’re made aware of a situation we’ve got an obligation and a responsibility to investigate it and we take that responsibility very seriously. In today’s world, people are more in tune maybe than 10 years ago or 20 years ago and with technology and social media word spreads quickly.” Jones said that no other incidents had taken place as of Tuesday afternoon.
