RUSSELL, Minn. — Two Marshall people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday near Russell, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At 4:03 Saturday afternoon, a 2007 GMC Yukon and a 2018 Toyota Tundra were traveling westbound on Highway 23 when they collided. 

The driver of the GMC, 69-year-old Deborah Newton, and her passenger, 70-year-old Michael Newton, both from Marshall, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Avera Marshall Hospital.  

The driver of the Toyota, 22-year-old Evan Johnson of Le Mars, IA, was not injured.
