MARSHALL — The next steps toward a new aquatic center in Marshall were taken at the Marshall City Council meeting on Tuesday. During the meeting, the council introduced an ordinance that would extend the time the sales tax is in effect to fund a new aquatic center. The council also moved forward with a land purchase agreement from Schwan’s at a cost of $468,000. The current plan for the new aquatic center’s location is near the corner of Saratoga Street and West College Drive. Tentatively, construction is set to begin in October 2024, with completion by the end of 2025.
