MARSHALL, Minn. — The Market Street Mall in Marshall is on the market, but the property’s sale does not mean Kal’s Motor Group plans to leave the location.
Owner Dan Kallevig purchased the mall property in 2023 and expanded Kal’s Motor Group into the building. The business, which is based in Wadena and also has locations in Park Rapids and Marshall, sells side-by-sides, golf carts, used vehicles, mowers, snowblowers, tools and ice fishing houses.
Kallevig said he is currently looking to sell the real estate because he has not had the leadership in place to fully utilize the available space. Kal’s Motor Group and Maurices are currently the only commercial occupants.
The property at 1420 East College Drive includes about 15.2 acres and 23 individual units. The mall was constructed in the mid-1970s.
The Marshall Economic Development Authority has been notified of the sale. EDA Director Lauren Deutz said the agency could work to make potential developers aware of the property and expressed interest in seeing it redeveloped.
