Marjorie Lasnetski, age 97, of Ivanhoe, MN passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Burial will be at St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Wilno, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Divine Providence Nursing Home Chapel in Ivanhoe. The Houseman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Marjorie Mary (Behnke) Lasnetski was born to Joseph and Esther (Van Denberghe) Behnke on March 18, 1922 in Limestone township, Lincoln County. She was baptized, received first communion and confirmed at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe. She attended country school until 8th grade after which she began doing housework and babysitting for her room and board.

Marge was united in marriage on May 18, 1943 to Leonard Lasnetski at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe. To this union they were blessed with 3 children: Carol, Jim and Dan and 71 years of marriage.

Marge enjoyed living and working with Leonard on the farm raising livestock and gardening as well as working in town at the Eagle Café and Daree Drive Inn. They moved into town in 1976 where she started doing daycare and became “Grandma Marge” to many children in the Ivanhoe area. Marge also enjoyed playing cards, entertaining and volunteering. Her family and grandchildren were her greatest enjoyments as she taught them many life lessons and was always there for them. Marjorie passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center at the age 97 years, 9 months and 6 days.

Marge is survived by children: Carol (Dennis) Halling, Arco, MN, James (Lorre Schaum) Lasnetski of Sunrise, FL, Daniel (Rosanne) Lasnetski, Ivanhoe, MN; grandchildren: Brian (Tonya) Halling, Shari (Rick Moen) Halling, Denise (Tom) Gladis, Jason (Mari) Lasnetski, Jeremy (Tyler) Lasnetski, Angela (Brian Doom) Meiners, Andrew (Dee) Lasnetski; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; sister, Leona; brothers, Donald and Dean; and one great-great, grandson, Cory Gladis.
