Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Sarbaum, 98, of Clarkfield, formerly of Minneota and Taunton, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Taunton.
Marian Ann (Tomek) Sarbaum was born on January 10, 1923, in Taunton, to Tom and Emma (Pesek) Tomek. Marian attended the Mcville School of Music. She suffered partial paralysis as a young child. Marian overcame this difficulty and taught herself to play piano with her left hand. She taught piano to many students and served the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church as an organist for 74 years. Marian was married to Duane Sarbaum on February 22, 1949, in Taunton. To this union was born son Edward who died at the age of five. Marian was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was an excellent cook. She will be remembered fondly for her homemade bread. Marian had been living at the Minneota Manor and, recently, moved to the Clarkfield Care Center. Marian died on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Care Center at the age of 98.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane, son Edward and brother Tom (and Zona) Tomek. Survivors include extended family and many friends.
