MINNEOTA (KMHL) – A Minneota man was killed in a crash that occurred just south of that community early this morning.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says Richard Downing, 69, of Minneota, was driving a 2005 GMC Envoy southbound on County road 3 when the vehicle lost control and rolled in the west ditch.
Authorities said earlier that Downing was ejected from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene. Sheriff’s officials say it doesn’t appear Downing was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
