Marshall (KMHL)- Street and sewer reconstructions, ambulance equipment and fire station upgrades were all on the list of projects for which Lyon County communities are seeking federal stimulus money.

Lyon County had received a total of $4.9 million on ARPA funding, said Lyon County Administrator Loren Stomberg.

Of the funding requests commissioners heard Tuesday, the only one granted right away was $65,000 for the Tracy Ambulance service.

Commissioners heard several different funding requests on Tuesday. They included a $200,000 request from the city of Russell to help offset some street construction costs for part of a major infrastructure project.

The city of Garvin was requesting funding assistance with updates to its water system, and with crack sealing residential streets. The total cost of those projects was about $123,000.

Commissioners passed a motion to come back on May 17 with some parameters for handling the ARPA requests. They also directed county staff to notify cities to submit requests within a certain time frame.
