The funeral service for Louise Krause, 89, of Marshall, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall, MN. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Marshall Cemetery. The Horvath Funeral Serivce of Marshall is handling the arrangements.
Louise Emily (Marks) Krause was born on August 24, 1936, in Clifton Township, MN, to Frank and Emily (Werner) Marks. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall. Louise grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On September 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Jerry Krause at Christ Church. The couple owned and operated the Coast to Coast Store in Marshall. Louise continued to operate the store after Jerry’s death. She later owned and operated “The General Store,” an antique store in Marshall. Louise was very active at Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed listening to classical symphony and orchestra music. She also enjoyed traveling, including a special trip to Switzerland.
Louise died peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall, MN. She is survived by her children Douglas (Becky) Krause of Ft. Wayne, IN, Cindy Nelson (Alan Carpenter) of Marshall, Barb Moran of Chaska, Kim (Mike) Campbell of Shakopee, ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and three sisters.
