Kodah Banjo DuMarce was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on February 2, 1979, to parents Clifford DuMarce and Vanessa Maskewit. He grew up in the Appleton, Minnesota, under the care of his great-aunt, Gloria and Andrew Nelson. Kodah attended Lac qui Parle schools, graduating with the high school class of 1997. Shortly thereafter, Kodah met Jessi Norman and the couple had two children and made their home in Montevideo, Minnesota. He did woodworking at Counter Craft in Montevideo until 2012 when he moved to Marshall. Kodah then began working at Jonti-Craft in Wabasso, Minnesota. Kodah met Kathy Mamer in 2015 and she has been a steady source of his happiness over the past six years. Kodah went to work for ADM in Marshall where he has been employed for the past 4 years. Kodah always had a genuine and caring heart and was known to have positive intentions towards others. Time spent with his nieces and nephews always spawned laughter and joking. Kodah enjoyed weightlifting (which he passed on to his boys), enjoyed mastering the grill and entertaining family and friends, but he never quite got a handle on frozen pizza – unless you preferred it burnt. His other enjoyments in life focused on fishing and being outside where he took care to notice even the smallest miracles that nature can provide. Above all, he was proud of his boys and all that they accomplished. Family meant the world to him. Kodah DuMarce died in Marshall, Minnesota, on November 14, 2021, at the age of 42 years, 9 months, and 12 days. Blessed be his memory.
