Kevin John Malecek, the son of Joseph and Betty (Rubischko) Malecek, was born May 30, 1970 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Kevin graduated from Danube High School in 1988. He was self-employed as a farmer, for 30 years. Kevin never wasted a day. He had no regrets and said many times he wouldn’t change a thing. Kev’s first love was farming, until he met his wife, Jana. Kev’s passion for life, family and farming was like no other. He was so vibrant and had a sense of humor that filled the room. He had a way with people and made everyone in his presence feel special. Kev touched so many lives, young and old, and was a mentor and teacher to anyone who came to him. Kev will be greatly missed by all, and the hole he has left will remain for a lifetime.
He is survived by his wife, Jana Malecek of Redwood Falls; children, Makayla Schweiss and Taylor Schweiss both of Redwood Falls; siblings, Denise (Jim) Nibbe of Fifty Lakes, Lisa (Mick) Mekkelsen of Chaska, Marty (Terri) Malecek of Redwood Falls, and Debbie (Sanjaya) Wanduragala of Minneapolis; mother and father-in-law, Gloria and George Niemela; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Jarl and Arlene Niemela, Lea and Ryan Siltala, Lars and Joy Niemela, Elsa and Mark Niska, Brita and Stuart Jurvakainen, Derek and Leanne Niemela, Aaron and Jackie Niemela, Danny and Ashley Niemela, Greta and Zach Niemela, Dana and Justin Muhonen, Jeremy and Brooke Niemela, Alina and Brian Jurvakainen; and many, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
