Kelly Jo (Lothert) Schuler, age 43, of Porter, MN passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center in Canby, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN and a prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m.. Private family burial will be at the Morton City Cemetery in Morton, MN at a later date. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
Kelly Jo (Lothert) Schuler was born September 29, 1980 to Stanley and Brenda (Edwards) Lothert. She lived in Redwood Falls, MN and attended school there. She lived next to the pool and enjoyed town life until she and her dad bought horses. They moved to a farm outside of Morton, MN and thoroughly enjoyed their life. She joined the Morton Franklin Saddle Club and spent weekends cleaning trails and riding. She learned so much from this group of amazing people. Kelly started working at the hardware store in town when she was of age and again, met another group of great people and had great experiences. Kelly worked there until she moved to Canby, MN in 2004. She was married to Jesse Eischens on October 16, 2004 and was blessed with 3 boys: Brandt, Trayten, and Gage. During that time, Kelly and her family camped and enjoyed life. Her dad got sick, so Kelly and her family bought a farm outside of St. Leo and lived with her parents until her dad passed away. There were many ups and downs, and eventually a motorcycle accident changed their paths. Kelly was diagnosed with ampullary cancer in August 2021 and went through rounds of chemotherapy. She was cancer free for 9 months, and then the cancer returned. At that time, Kelly made the decision to check off items on her bucket list. Kelly was able to marry her soulmate, Brant (BJ) Schuler on April 14, 2023 in Nashville, TN. She made it to Sturgis, SD to experience the motorcycle rally in August 2023. She continued to live life to the fullest. She fought hard against cancer, but eventually the cancer was too strong, and she lost her battle on October 25, 2023 surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, BJ Schuler of Porter, MN; children: Brandt, Trayten, and Gage Eischens; mother, Brenda Lothert of Canby, MN; parents-in-law, Bruce and Cindy Schuler of Marshall, MN; brother-in-law, Scott (Jenni) Schuler of Clarkfield, MN; nieces: Kalea Miller, Kelci Eischens, Anna Eischens, Kaitlynn and Abby Schuler, many aunts and uncles, and many friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Lothert; grandparents, Floyd and Della Lothert and Henry and Harriet Edwards.
