John Aune, age 84, of Hendricks, MN passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Hendricks Community Hospital Nursing Home. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced by the Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN. Burial will be at the East Hendricks (Calvary) Cemetery, Hendricks, MN. Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel of Hendricks is entrusted with the arrangements.
John Merrill Aune was born February 23, 1940 to Gerhardt and Hattie (Vizecky) Aune in Hendricks, Minnesota. He graduated from Hendricks Public School in 1958. After graduation John enlisted in the Air Force and spent time in Goose Bay, Labrador. After his military career, John returned to Hendricks where his farm included a herd of dairy cattle and many horses. He was a very accomplished horseman with his passion for horses lasting all his life.
John passed away on July 21, 2024 at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 28 days.
John is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children: Julie, Jeff, Jason and Jenna; his step-children: Shawn and Jim and a host of beautiful grandchildren. One sister, Gail and his brother and sister-in-law, Colin and Geri all live in Hendricks. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerhardt and Hattie Aune and his brother-in-law, Glen Kvernmo.
