Jimmie Prescott Irvin Lecy, age 92 of Belview, MN, passed away on Friday April 3, 2026, at CentraCare Redwood in Redwood Falls with his family at his side. There will be a short memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Echo Alliance Church in Echo, MN followed by a Celebration of Life until 5:00 p.m. at the Echo Community Center in Echo. Interment will be held at a later date at the Hillside Cemetery in Echo. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jimmie was born on January 20, 1934, in Sioux Agency Township in Yellow Medicine County to Jensena (Akre) and Bennie Lecy. His parents wanted to name him Prescott and his brother Harry wanted him named Jimmie. Harry won out. Jimmie was baptized and confirmed at Rock Valley Church. He graduated from Echo High School in 1951. Jimmie met and married the love of his life Joyce Lorena Miller. They were married on December 19, 1953.  Jimmie worked many different jobs during his life. He worked as a Moorman’s feed salesman, at the Echo Elevator, Minnesota Valley Construction as a truck driver, Miles Lorenz as a truck driver, and at Firefly Creek Casino. Jimmie and Joyce owned and operated the Rainbow Café in Belview for many years. Jimmie’s last job was the job he wanted his whole life. He bought a farm and became a farmer. He raised cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, two mischievous goats, and many stray dogs that never listened.  Jimmie was a long-time member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Echo.  Laughing and humor were the core of who Jimmie was. He loved to tell jokes and countless stories. Family was very important to him. Jimmie and Joyce spent over 72 years together making memories with their kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids. He loved to fish and hunt with the family. There were many hours spent playing guitar and singing with family and friends. While he lived on the farm, he loved riding his 4-wheeler out to the Back 80. He spent many hours enjoying the Back 80.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons: Clint (Judy), Ben (Deidra), Jamie (Cori), and Joey (Betty); grandchildren: Kelly (Shannon) Beattie, Lois (Darrell) Bittner, Clint Jr. (Chandra Owens) Lecy, Amy (Joe) Rieke, Tyrel (Nicole) Lecy, Nick (Morgan) Lecy, and Samantha (Brandon ) Sullivan; great-grandchildren: Austin (Lexcy) Beattie, Alex Beattie, Jordan (Kristi) Flynn, Mikaela Fenger, Brett Abernathy, Brady, Brody & Avery Lecy, Elizabeth & William Rieke, Weston & Sutherlyn Lecy, Luke, James & Ethan Lecy; and great-great-grandchildren: Audrianna, Ivan & Avaeya Beattie, and Baby Flynn. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, great-great grandson Kolt Fenger, nephew Dennis Lecy, and sisters-in-law Margie and Kathy Lecy.
