LAKEFIELD – An Iowa man is in critical condition after a rollover incident in Jackson County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 11:11 Saturday evening, a 1997 Buick Park Avenue was traveling northbound on Highway 86 in Jackson County when it left the roadway and rolled in the ditch.
The driver of the Buick, 59-year-old Michael David Smith of Everly, IA, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Lakes Regional Health Care in Spirit Lake, IA. The report notes Smith wasn’t wearing his seat belt and alcohol is believed to be involved in the accident.
Assistance was provided by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and Lakefield Fire and Ambulance.
