GRANITE FALLS – An infant that was found unresponsive at Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort died after lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, according to the Upper Sioux Community Police Department. At approximately 6:25 Thursday morning, Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive infant at Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort. Staff medical responders, the Upper Sioux Community Police Department, and Avera Granite Falls Ambulance responded to the call. Life saving efforts were performed on the one-month-old infant, however they were unsuccessful and the infant was pronounced dead. The infant was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The Upper Sioux Community Police Department was assisted by Granite Falls Ambulance, Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The case is under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
