MARSHALL — The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning tonight from 7:00PM until April 1st at 4:00AM. Southwest Minnesota and east central South Dakota will see light drizzle and freezing rain throughout the day. That freezing rain will likely give way to snowfall tonight and through the overnight hours. Current forecast models predict 2-4 inches of snowfall, however wind could gust as high as 50 mph.
With the accumulation of ice and potential for high winds, power outages and tree damage are likely. Travel could be nearly impossible and the hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Take care while outside as the gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
