Hugo Lee Hellvig was born on October 25, 1963, to George Lloyd and Joyce Ann (Dandurand) in Tyler, Minnesota. Hugo and his family lived in rural Minnesota his entire childhood. He was baptized in the Catholic Faith with his Godparents being his aunt and uncle, Cyriel and Lilly Vierstrate. Hugo attended Marshall School District and graduated with the class of 1983.  Hugo was best known to his friends and family for his feisty, opinionated, but yet kind demeanor. He was always ready and willing to help someone out in their time of need. He was so full of life and always had stories to share, most of these stories were about fishing or the many Oklahoma trips he took with his mom to go and visit friends and family. Hugo was dedicated to his work as a food processor laborer for Turkey Valley. He rarely missed a day of work, even if he didn’t have a ride. Unfortunately, his health started to decline, and the once vibrant personality became more reserved. In his later years, Hugo thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his mom and watching TV.

Hugo Lee Hellvig died on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center. He had reached the age of 59 years, 8 months, and 21 days. Blessed be his memory.
