MARSHALL — Construction crews are expected to continue making progress this week on the Highway 19 reconstruction project in Marshall, weather permitting.

Between Main Street and the Liberty Park Bridge, concrete paving, ADA accessibility improvements, sidewalk installation and underground electrical work for street lighting will continue. Crews are also scheduled to begin installing streetlight foundations and setting poles.

At the Main Street and East College Drive intersection, concrete paving is expected to continue while ADA and sidewalk work gets underway. Signal system foundation work and installation of traffic signal loops are scheduled to be completed, and crews plan to install the signal controller cabinet. Signal poles will be installed after the foundations have had sufficient time to cure.

At the Bruce Street and Highway 19 intersection, watermain installation is scheduled to begin, while storm sewer installation is expected to wrap up.

In the year-one project area between Legion Field Bridge and Main Street, crews will perform maintenance work on previously installed improvements.

Several road closures remain in place. The Bruce Street and East College Drive intersection, the Main Street and Highway 19 intersection, and Highway 19 between Main Street and the Liberty Park Bridge remain closed to through traffic. Detours are posted, and businesses within the construction zone remain open and accessible.
