MARSHALL (KMHL) – Health officials say a second Lyon County resident has died of COVID-19.

The information was reported by Minnesota Department of Health officials Saturday. Officials also note that cases in Lyon County continue to spike, according to the Minnesota Department of Health, there have now been 133 confirmed cases of the virus in Lyon County – vastly greater than any of the surrounding counties in the region, other than Nobles County.

Nobles County has the most deaths of any of the counties in southwest Minnesota with five. Chippewa County and Kandiyohi County each have just one fatality.
