A walk through visitation for Harvey Myhre, 95, of Minneota, will take place from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020, at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota.  A family service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment will follow the service at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Minneota.  Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed at all times.  The Horvath Funeral Service of Minneota is handling the arrangements.

Harvey Charles Myhre was born on February 24, 1925, to John and Emma (Opdahl) Myhre on the family farm in Nordland Township.  He attended District 77 Country School and graduated from Minneota High School.  On August 23, 1958, he was united in marriage to Wanda Risting and to this union were born nine children.  Wanda died in 1986.  Later, Harvey began spending time with Lois Widmark.  The couple enjoyed dancing, travelling and spending time together.  Harvey’s primary passion was the farm.  He was very self-sufficient and creative. He typically made his own tools and fixed all of his own equipment.  Harvey was very staunch in his beliefs.  He enjoyed taxidermy and Sudoku among other hobbies.  When he was in his late 80s, he moved to the Madison Ave apartments and later to the Minneota Manor.

Harvey died on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Minneota Manor.  He is survived by his children Harvey Jr. of Porter, Richard (and Diane) of Minneota, Robert “Bob” (and Lisa) of Minneota, Tom (and Traci) of Minneota, Ardis Truwe of Willmar, Donald (and Nancy Kerr) of Sioux Falls, Eric (and Paula) of Taunton, Steven (and Char) of New Hope, daughter-in-law Allison of Minneota, 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and very special friend Lois Widmark of Ivanhoe.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wanda, son Ronald and all of his siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall.
