Green Day did a surprise six-song set at the Rockefeller Center subway station in New York Tuesday night. It was taped for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
They came out in disguises with wigs, fake mustaches, and sunglasses to play a cover of Bad Company’s “Feel Like Makin’ Love”, with Jimmy on tambourine.
After revealing their identities, they went on to play “Basket Case”, two new songs, a cover of KISS’ “Rock and Roll All Nite”, and “American Idiot”.
No word yet when the segment will air. Their new album “Saviors” comes out tomorrow.
In related news, Green Day says on their upcoming stadium tour with the Smashing Pumpkins, they’ll be playing “Dookie” and “American Idiot” in full.
