MARSHALL – One man is dead after a two-vehicle collision involving a straight truck and pickup at the intersection of Highway 23 and 59 in Marshall, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 2:47 Friday afternoon, a 2013 Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on Highway 23 while a 2007 Freightliner M2 Straight Truck was turning onto southbound Highway 59 from Highway 23 southbound. The vehicles collided in the intersection. 

The driver of the Dodge, a 69-year-old man from Lynd, died from injuries sustained in the accident. The identity of the man will be released on Saturday by the Minnesota State Patrol, pending notice to next of kin.

The driver of the straight truck, 30-year-old Taylor Ronald Schmidt of Ruthton, was not injured.
