Help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead. It's Christmas in Garvin on December 5th from 1-3pm. Head downtown Garvin to visit Santa. The event will be outside to accommodate social distancing protocols. Bring your Christmas wish letters and snap a picture with Santa! Gift bags with treats will be available for all who visit Santa on December 5th, from 1-3pm outside on Sherman Street in Garvin. Bone-In Ham Dinner Drive Thru Meal
Cruise over to the Balaton Community Center on November 8th, 11:00 - 1:00 for their Bone-In Ham Dinner Drive Thru Meal. Cost is $10 for adults, $4 ages 4-7, and under 4 is FREE. Meal includes ham, your choice of scalloped potatoes, corn, squash, coleslaw, relish, rolls, and dessert. Gluten free meals are available. Pre-sale tickets are available at First Independent Bank in Balaton, Balaton Press Tribune, or the RTR Middle School. This event is sponsored by Balaton United Methodist Church.

Starting at 10:00am, A.C.E. of SW Minnesota is presenting the play that takes you on a one-year journey with Tim & Amanda in their car as they bare witness to the early progression of dementia. This event includes the performance and facilitated discussion to help you learn more and increase awareness, as well as provide valuable resources for you, your family, or friends who are experiencing the effects of memory loss. Brookings Dance Club
The Brookings Dance Club will be hosting a dance FOR ALL on November 21 with the Norgaard Duo providing the music for your enjoyment. You must be wearing a mask upon arrival and your temperature will be taken at the door with sanitizers on the tables. Your admission cost is $10 and $9 for members. There will not be a food table but there will be the 50/50 drawing. The dance will be held at the McKnight Community Hall in White SD from 8pm until 12 midnight.

Grace Life Church of Marshall is offering a Thanksgiving Community Meal on November 26th. Curbside Pick Up and Delivery will be available from 11am-1pm. Unfortunately, the Dine-In option is not available this year due to the Covid-19 restrictions and precautions. Parade begins at 6:00pm and the route will follow Main St to Lyon St, following Lyon St to Independence Park, where the fireworks display will take place at 7:30pm.
