Did you know that the American Red Cross declared a national blood shortage on Sept. 11, citing a critically low blood supply level that dropped nearly 25% since early August. You can do your part to help at the Balaton Blood Drive on Wednesday November 8th, 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Balaton Community Center. UW Dine Local Help Local – Wooden Nickel
Wooden NickelThe Wooden Nickel is partnering with the United Way of Southwestern Minnesota once again, donating 10% of all sales November 9th as part of Dine Local Help Local. United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is honored to be partnering with local businesses for Dine Local Help Local this fall. All funds raised will be invested in local programs to benefit local people throughout the service area. Veterans Day Program at the Marshall Adult Community Center
Marshall Adult Community Center 107 S. 4th Street, Marshall, Minnesota, United StatesCome to the Marshall Adult Community Center for their Veteran's Day Program on Nov. 11th, starting at 10:30 a.m. Heidi Fier, Lyon County Veterans Service Officer, will be the guest speaker for the event. Program is sponsored by the Marshall American Legion and Marshall Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Milroy Lions Pancake Breakfast
Milroy American Legion MN, United StatesJoin the Milroy Lions club Sunday, Nov. 12th for a pancake breakfast at the Milroy American Legion from 9 a.m. - noon. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, applesauce, milk, juice & coffee. Cost will be a free will offering.
Bone-In Ham Dinner & UWF Bake Sale
Balaton Community Center 134 3rd St, Balaton, MN, United StatesJoin the Balaton United Methodist Church and the UWF Ladies Sunday, November 12th at the Balaton Community Center. 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will be the UWF Bake Sale and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will be the dinner. Cost for the dinner is $12 for adults and children 7 & under are $6. Menu items include ham, scalloped potatoes, corn, squash, coleslaw, roll and dessert. A gluten free meal is also available. The Seminar is for anyone who is grieving a loved one's death with the holiday season quick approaching. It will present practical, hope-inspiring ideas including how to survive social and family events, how to deal with emotions, and how to create new traditions while honoring your loved one's legacy. Families are welcome.
