U of MN’s NCROC Annual Visitors Day Celebration

University of Minnesota’s North Central Research & Outreach Center (NCROC) Celebrates 130 Years with Annual Visitors Day Event.

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. — The University of Minnesota’s North Central Research and Outreach Center (NCROC) will host its annual Visitors Day on Saturday, June 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year’s free, family-friendly event is extra special, as it marks the center’s 130th anniversary.

The public is invited to explore 130 years of agricultural research, education, and community partnership through interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and hands-on activities designed for all ages.

Event Highlights Include:

• Tours: Self-guided campus tours with access to one of NCROC’s historic barns, alongside two guided bog tours.
• Exhibits & Learning: Interactive displays from the Bell Museum, the Grand Rapids Fire and Police Departments, and the local Master Gardeners, plus much more!
• Equipment & Partners: A large equipment display courtesy of Northland Lawn and other community partners.
• Family Fun: Hands-on University of Minnesota Extension activities, plus free science and nature kits provided by the Bell Museum (available while supplies last).

Admission is completely free and open to the public. Food will be available on site for purchase, and free popcorn and water will be provided to guests throughout the day.

Come celebrate NCROC’s long history of serving northern Minnesota through research and innovation, while getting a firsthand look at the current programs shaping the future.
