Please help SMAC welcome our next gallery exhibit featuring the fiber art of KIRSTEN BRICHLER (Marshall). This exhibit will be in the SMAC Gallery in downtown Marshall at 509 West Main Street from March 6 – April 25, 2025. Brichler received a Quick Support for Artists grant in 2023 to explore the abundant diversity of animals, plants and fungi throughout Minnesota through the use of wool.

Meet Kirsten Brichler “My name is Kirsten Brichler, and I hold two degrees in entomology. Currently, I serve as an agronomy professor and greenhouse manager. With a lifelong passion for both nature and the arts, I have sought to merge these interests through my creative work. This project aims to highlight the diverse wildlife of Minnesota — both familiar and lesser-known — using the medium of needle felting with wool. By combining my scientific background with my artistic expression, I strive to capture the intricate beauty of the natural world in a tangible, textured form.”

Join an IN-PERSON artist reception on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5-7pm at the SMAC Gallery, 509 West Main Street, Marshall

Join a VIRTUAL artist talk via Zoom on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 5:30 pm.

Please email SMAC staff [info@swmnarts.org] for the ZOOM link to join this Artist Talk.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Funding provided by the McKnight Foundation.
