
Evelyn Albers, age 94, of Marshall and formerly of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, died on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Prairie Home Hospice – McLaughlin House in Marshall, Minnesota. With the expected weather incoming, service dates and visitation times have shifted. Funeral Services are now 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Following a reception, interment will be in the St. Matthew’s Cemetery, south of Wabasso, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The evening will conclude with a Prayer Service and Memory Share at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to her celebration, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday at the church. Evelyn Mayme Lang was born on December 6, 1931, in Waterbury Township near Wabasso, Minnesota. She was the daughter of George and Mae (Nolting) Lang. Evelyn grew up on her family’s century farm and was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her youth at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She attended country school and Wabasso High School. Evelyn and Vernon were united in marriage on August 18, 1948, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Waterbury Township, Redwood County. Evelyn and Vernon enjoyed 73 1/2 years of marriage together and raised three children. They lived & farmed in Paxton Township from 1951 until 1979 at which time they moved to Redwood Falls. They continued to farm until they retired in 1988. In April 2015 they moved to Marshall, Minnesota. Evelyn worked at several retail stores, including Larson’s Home Furnishings in Redwood Falls. Evelyn served in many roles at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls where she was particularly involved with the visitation committee. Her other enjoyments in life included decorating, gardening, playing cards, sewing, quilting, hardanger, diamond art, and shopping. Evelyn was a fan of watching the Olympics, the Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, and Vikings. She treasured the many close friendships she was able to develop in recent years at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Marshall.
She is survived by her 3 children, John (Patricia) Albers of Redwood Falls, Wayne (Marlene) Albers of Saint Peter, Sharon (Lee) DeBlieck of Marshall; 7 grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Myhre, Heather (Travis) Fischer, Alicia (Christopher) George, Cole (Beatrice) DeBlieck, Katherine Ley, Kindra Albers (Nick Anderson), Eric (Erin) DeBlieck; 10 great-grandchildren, Sean DeBlieck, Adyson Fischer, Conner George, Callen Fischer, Joseph Myhre, Preston DeBlieck, Charlotte Ley, Claire George, Lorelei Ley, Harper DeBlieck; brother, Donald (Carole Ann) Lang of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mae Lang; her beloved husband, Vernon Albers; and a brother, Richard “Dickie” Lang.
