Mass of Christian Burial for Esther Peters, 95, of Stewartville, MN, formerly of Green Valley, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019, at St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Friday. Interment will follow at St. Clotilde Catholic Cemetery in Green Valley.
Esther (Kindler) Peters was born on June 2, 1924, in Lynd, MN, to William and Meta (Becker) Kindler. She grew up in Lynd and graduated from the Lynd High School. On June 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Roland Peters at St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley. The couple farmed and raised their family in rural Green Valley. Esther was an active member of St. Clotilde Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking and gardening. After Roland’s death in 2015, Esther moved to Stewartville, MN, to be closer to family in her aging years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.
Esther died on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at the Stewartville Care Center in Stewartville, MN. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Hawkinson (and husband Jim Costigan) of Sturgeon Bay, WI, son Ken Peters of Stillwater, daughter-in-law Laura Peters of Stewartville, grandchildren Kimberly Peters, Kristina Peters, Brittney (and Jesse) Nelson, Brianna Peters and Tyler Peters, great grandchildren Kyle Peters (and fiancé Terri Reed), Brayden Boyum, Liliana Nelson, and one great-grandson on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roland, brother Hardin Kindler and son Gene Peters in April of 2019.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall.
