A Memorial Service for Erica Nelson, 43, of Marshall, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Erica died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at her residence.
Erica Joy Nelson was born on May 5, 1977, in Westbrook, MN, to Rick and Sue (Baumann) Nelson. She grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook Walnut Grove High School in 1995. Erica continued her schooling including obtaining a degree from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. She worked as a Dental Assistant in Dawson, Sun Prairie, WI, and in Marshall. Erica’s primary joy in life was being a mother to Taya, born on January 16, 2000. Erica will be remembered for her wit, generosity and her great sense of humor.
She is survived by daughter, Taya, sisters Emily (and Kurt) Baird of Fox Lake, WI and Becky Nelson of Marshall, nieces Abby and Katelyn Schauer and Brianne and Karly Baird. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rick and Sue.
