Eric Auchterlonie, age 72, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall, Minnesota. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Eric David Auchterlonie was born on November 8, 1948, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents David and Caroline Auchterlonie. He grew up in the Twin Cities area and Eric was baptized and confirmed at Saint Patrick’s Church in Bloomington, Minnesota.  After graduating from Kennedy High School in Bloomington with the class of 1967, Eric joined the United States Navy where he would go on to serve over 23 years during his career. Eric retired in 1990 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He went on to work security at Prairie’s Edge Casino in Granite Falls, Minnesota, and also had a few other part time jobs in retirement.  He enjoyed collecting Native American memorabilia and antiquing. Most of his spare time was spent keeping up with his classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends and he recently rekindled an old relationship which brought him a lot of happiness in recent months.

Eric David Auchterlonie died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 7, 2021, in Marshall. He reached the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 29 days. Blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his siblings, Dirk (and Cheryl) Auchterlonie of Lindstrom, Claudia (and Michael) Wallentine of Pequot Lakes; brother-in-law, William Brekke of Pequot Lakes; significant other, Raenell Rohlfs of Mobile, Alabama; niece and nephew, Hollie (and Seong) Kim of Hugo, Knowel Auchterlonie of Lindstrom; other relatives and friends.  Eric is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janis Brekke.
