(Undated) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering a limited number of elk hunting licenses for the 2024 season, with the application deadline set for Saturday, June 15th. This year, 10 licenses are available, divided into two landowner permits, two 10-year history permits, and six general lottery permits.

The hunting season will run from Saturday, September 21st, to Sunday, September 29th, targeting the three recognized elk herds in northwest Minnesota: Grygla, Kittson Central, and Caribou-Vita. However, the Grygla zone remains closed to state-licensed hunters.
