Doloras Jenson, age 90 of Walnut Grove, passed away peacefully Monday, March 23, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook. Due to the Covid-19 event guidelines, a private family service will be held. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to 1456 Howard St. St. Peter, MN 56082. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Doloras Jenson was born December 22, 1929 to Ernest and Eula (Gottschalk) Davis in Springdale Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove. Doloras was raised just outside of Walnut Grove, where she attended country school. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove, where she was united in marriage to Curtiss Jenson in 1957. Doloras worked at Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook for 20 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, where she would garden and took care of her chickens. Some of Doloras’ hobbies included sewing and watching baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins. She was a great baker and was famous for her homemade bread. Doloras was a happy person that loved to visit with people and spending time with her grandchildren.
Doloras is survived by her children: Lynn (Neal) Connelly of Hastings, NE, Steven (Brenda) Jenson of Jackson and Donn Jenson of St. Peter; grandchildren: Codi (Randy) Schultz, Melissa (Bryan) Murphy, Stephanie (Kyle) McGuire, and Leah (fiancé Matt Jandera) Jenson; great grandchildren: Eliza & Ryder Schultz, Taylor, Grace, Lillian & Ceclia Murphy, Halle & Ellis McGuire, and Haisley Jandera; and sister-in-law Eleanor Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband Curtiss, brothers Richard (Lucille) Davis & Donald Davis, great grandson Shawn Schultz, and niece Debra Anderson.
