BREWSTER (LEARFIELD) – Diesel costs keep mounting for many farmers.  Chris Hill grows corn and soybeans near Brewster in southwest Minnesota and also runs a small trucking firm.

“I think we burned close to 200-gallons (in one day last week) of diesel fuel in three trucks,” said Hill. “And that happens almost on a daily occasion out here, so it adds up quick.”

Hill doesn’t think there’s a lot of relief in sight either.

“We need some help on that end, and I don’t know what the answer is for that,” said Hill.

The average price for a gallon of diesel in Minnesota is $5.54.
