The funeral service for Delbert Lange, 80, of Cottonwood, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall.  Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the remembrance center.  Interment will follow the service at the Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Cottonwood.

Delbert Victor Lange was born on September 30, 1941, in Marshall, to Victor and Jane (Johnson) Lange.  He grew up on a farm near Cottonwood and graduated from Cottonwood High School.  In September of 1958 he was united in marriage to Beverly Isaackson and to this union were born Lisa, Terry and Debra.  Delbert farmed and raised his family near Cottonwood.  He liked having fun and lived a full life.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling and playing golf.  He wintered in Laughlin, NV, for several years.  Delbert played for local fast pitch softball teams.  He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

Delbert died on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall due to complications from COVID 19.  He is survived by his children Lisa (and Jeff) Varpness of Cottonwood, Terry (and Mendy) Lange of Bradenton, FL, Debra Ness (and Paul Munson) of Balaton, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, siblings Janice Emerick of Osseo, Sharon (and John) Dahl of Glenwood, Meredith (and Ozzie) Doom of Stoughton, WI, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his “special buddies,” his cats Blondie and Peaches.  He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Stephanie Javens and brother Daniel Lange.
