Daniel Bridgland, age 36, of Sartell, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 13, 2022, at his home. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Interment will then be in the Marshall Cemetery. A reception for attendees will follow, back at the church. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, also at the church.
Daniel L. Bridgland was born in Seoul, South Korea, on March 18, 1986, and given into the arms of his loving family in St. Charles, Minnesota on June 26 of that same year. He moved with his family to Marshall, Minnesota, in September 1987. Daniel was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall. He started training in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do at the age of 6 and participated in many upper Midwest TKD tournaments, earning over 60 trophies and medals. He attained his first-degree black belt at the age of 15. After graduating from Marshall High School in 2004, Daniel moved to the St. Cloud area where he explored several career paths. He was proud to serve two years as a Red Cross phlebotomist. Daniel fulfilled a long-time dream when he obtained his real estate license and became a successful real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Realty in St. Cloud this past March. Daniel liked to stay busy and lived life to the fullest. In his younger years, he made many memories skateboarding with his friends. As he grew older, his interests and hobbies included caring for his pet fish and two cats (Hops and Tooie), traveling, cooking, watching movies, and fishing. He loved to spend time with his friends going out to restaurants and playing poker, and he enjoyed many concerts and live music events. He was also a loyal MN sports fan and enjoyed watching the Vikings and attending MN Twins and Wild games. Daniel was a creative, outgoing, generous, kind and caring person who loved conversation and meeting new people.
Daniel Bridgland reached the age of 36 years, 2 months, and 24 days. He is now in God’s care and will be deeply missed by many.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Paul and Marilyn (Thede) Bridgland; sister, Stefanie Bridgland; maternal grandmother, Joy Thede; aunts, Carol Thede, LoAnn Hagen; uncle, Leroy (Gloria) Bridgland; three cousins, Maggie Hart, Wanda (Jason) Huettl, Darwin (Kim Hessian) H. Bridgland; cousin-in-law, Krista Hagen; five second cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Darwin A. and Lucy Bridgland; maternal grandfather, Omer Thede; uncle, Tom Hagen; and cousin, Wayne Hagen.
