Cynthia Jeanne Delores (Haugen) Dahl, age 70 of Westbrook, formerly of Chaska and Middle River, MN, passed away surrounded by family Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Our House Hospice of Murray County after a long illness. Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Westbrook Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in the Westbrook Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Cynthia Jeanne Delores (Haugen) Dahl was born February 11, 1956 to Irwin and Alvina (Strand) Haugen in Thief River Falls, MN. The youngest of nine children, Cynthia’s brother George was her protector. They enjoyed singing “How Far is Heaven” together. She was also very close to her sibling Tim and his wife Nena, they helped name her daughter Elischa. Cynthia loved to stay active with art, baking and socializing with family. She took pride in teaching her daughter to crochet and the art will live on through her children. Cynthia enjoyed reading and doing jigsaw puzzles, puzzle games on her tablet, diamond art, embroidery and cross stitch. Always busy, you couldn’t get her to sit down! She was the biggest Stich fan and loved lilacs. Family was everything to Cynthia; adopting the motto “Ohana means family”. Cynthia was happiest when she had all five of her children together.
Cynthia is survived by her children: Lisa (Brian) Zimmerman, Troy (Sonja) Haugen, Jean Nelson, Jamie Wuorenma & Zach (Amy) Pickard; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Tim (Nena) Viney, Stephen (Jackie) Haugen, Patricia Haugen, & Victoria Ternet; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Cathy Terzich, George & Paul Viney, great-great aunt Esther Viney and nephew Tim Terzich.
