MARSHALL (KMHL) – During a Zoom meeting with the Marshall business community, Seventh District Congressman Collin Peterson said he knows there are a lot of problems for businesses, farmers and even hospitals right now.

“Yesterday we listened to the hospitals, they’re not sure how long they can last, maybe another month or two, without some help,” said Peterson. “So it’s bad, and eventually I think it will come back, but I’m not sure how many people can weather this stuff – especially the small businesses.”

Peterson encourages small business owners and farmers to submit their applications to the SBA so they can receive funding.

“My advice to everybody is going in and apply,” said Peterson. “Get your ore in the water as soon as possible,” said Peterson. “I think you’re going to be covered, but what I’m worried about is this thing is going to run out of money, so the sooner you can get in the better.”

Peterson said he believes farmers will be covered. He said farmers should do whatever they have to, to get their applications to submit.
